FINE & RAW CHOCOLATE’S NEW PRODUCT LINE & REDESIGN

With summer now on the wane, it’s a great time to catch up on some of the chocolate news from earlier this season, before that summer vibe officially gives way to Fall. One of the more chocolate-centric news items, which we published in late June, announced a new product launch, coupled with a redesign, coming out of Brooklyn’s own FINE & RAW Chocolate. The craft chocolatier officially launched its redesigned signature line to kick off the summer on June 21st, “featuring colorful packaging, two new flavors, and thinner bars.”

Reading through the full press release, it appeared FINE & RAW founder Daniel Sklaar looked to blind you with science, in a good way. Daniel acted as art director for the redesign, shifting his wrappers’ artwork to a “natural look that reflects its chocolate creations.”

The press release also noted that “the enlivened compositions, which incorporate floral imagery and vivid colors, trend against the industry’s predisposition towards linear, non-organic patterns.”

FINE & RAW’s beautiful redesign goes beyond each bar’s exterior, however, as Daniel also changed the physical structure of each bar –

“The decision to switch to thinner bars – now 40% slimmer at 4mm thick – was inspired by food science data. Sklaar researched methods to build upon the palatability of FINE & RAW’s bars and learned that by increasing their surface area, their heavenly chocolate molecules are more quickly released on the tongue.

After first experimenting with thinner bars in his Brooklyn Bonnie collection, Sklaar loved the result and applied the change to every bar.

Combined with FINE & RAW’s high quality organic ingredients, the updated signature line boasts the brand’s richest and most complex flavors to date.”

Now with more than twenty bars, confections, butters and spreads, FINE & RAW’s product line looks more robust than ever, especially with Daniel’s two newest varieties added to the mix here in June.

First, Cashew Nut Butter “blends housemade raw cashew butter into dark chocolate, enhanced by lucuma and vanilla, for an incredibly creamy bar with notes of caramel cookie.”

The second variety, a 70% Cacao bar, is “70% dark chocolate with no adornments… blending the best cacao beans in the world with coconut sugar and cacao butter.”

We’ll give Daniel the last word here, and we wish him all the best with both the brand redesign and the launch of his two newest creations.

“Our redesign reflects not only our obsession with making the best craft chocolate in the world, but leading the industry in innovation from ingredients to presentation. The thinner bars magically dance on the palate like no other chocolate and our vibrant new packaging means our bars look and taste beautiful.”
