Deeper connections, incredible chocolate… indulge in Conexión!
“Conexión… a Spanish word that sounds quite similar to its English version…
It’s also the name a young Ecuadorian crafter chose for her small batch, bean-to-bar chocolate company, after learning at a young age that enjoying a piece of chocolate sits among the very best experiences in life.
Meet Jenny Samaniego, owner of Conexion Chocolate, who felt her very first connection to cacao as only a small child…”
That’s the opening to our In Focus feature on Conexión in the latest issue, and you can read the article in its entirety right here, or if you own the November ’19 issue, click here to read ad-free instead.
You’re sure to love Conexión, both the story behind the company, and of course the chocolate itself, which you can order right here at an incredible price. These bars would cost around $50 on Conexión’s website, but you can pick them up here for $30-$36, depending on your discount!
Enjoy Conexión, our last chocolate offer of 2019, while supplies last.

Conexión CHOCOLATE Six Bars
100% Cacao Virgin Bar
Conexión crafts this 100% Virgin/Raw Dark Chocolate Bar with Arriba Nacional Cocoa Beans from the province of Los Rios, Ecuador. These minimally processed beans are flash roasted (raw) to bring out their desirable flavor profile of woody, cocoa, dried fruit, floral, nutty, herb, and caramelized notes.
This cacao of the Apovinces co-op has been designated as Heirloom Cacao by HCP, for preserving the rare and old varieties of Arriba Nacional Cacao.
Single Province: Los Ríos, Ecuador
Cacao Co-op: Apovinces
Tasting Notes: “Delicate floral notes, distinguished by subtle acidity and sharp earthy tones, highlighted by an intense long lasting finish.”
Ingredients: Organic cacao mass
85% Cacao Virgin Bar
Conexión crafts this 85% Virgin/Raw Dark Chocolate Bar with the same Arriba Nacional Cocoa Beans they use in their 100% Virgin Bar as well.
Although still a very deep, rich bar, the 85% version tones down the superpowered 100% cacao strength just a notch, with a little organic cane sugar and organic cacao butter added to the bar (versus the 100% organic cacao mass found in the 100% Virgin Bar).
Single Province: Los Ríos, Ecuador
Cacao Co-op: Apovinces
Tasting Notes: “Exceptionally high cocoa content with attractive woody notes and high tannins that gives a vigorous and exotic red fruit finish.”
Ingredients: Organic cacao mass, organic cane sugar, organic cacao butter
81% Dark Roast Bar
Crafed with Arriba Nacional Cocoa Beans from the province of Manabí, Ecuador, Salon du Chocolat 2017 recognized these beans as one of the best cocoa beans in the world, with a flavor profile that “takes you on a journey of fruity, floral, nutty, caramelized, and cocoa notes.”
Single Province: Manabí, Ecuador
Cacao Co-op: Fortaleza del Valle
Tasting Notes: “Bright, floral and nutty with an exhilerating bouquet of red fruits and a long-lasting finish on the palate with hints of toasted almond.”
Ingredients: Organic cacao mass, organic cane sugar, organic cacao butter
70% Cayenne Pepper and Chia
Also crafed with Arriba Nacional Cocoa Beans from the province of Manabí, Ecuador, this bar combines incredible ingredients with singular properties and Conexión’s 70% chocolate, creating a new experience of flavors and textures for your palate.
Single Province: Manabí, Ecuador
Cacao Co-op: Fortaleza del Valle
Tasting Notes: “The journey begins by taking you for a walk through the wild red berry patch, then the cocoa plantation, followed by a stroll past the chia farm. Finally, your journey ends at the sweet, crunchy and semi-spicy cayenne pepper garden.”
Ingredients: Organic cacao mass, organic cane sugar, organic cacao butter, chia seeds, Cayenne pepper.
70% Cacao Virgin Bar
A lighter virgin bar than the other two above, Conexión crafts this 70% Virgin/Raw Dark Chocolate Bar with the same Arriba Nacional Cocoa Beans they use in their other two incredible Virgin Bars as well.
Single Province: Los Ríos, Ecuador
Cacao Co-op: Apovinces
Tasting Notes: “Desirable explosive floral aromas and fruity flavors expressd by our Arriba Nacional Cocoa. Notes of fresh cacao pulp, green apple and a cocoa finish.”
Ingredients: Organic cacao mass, organic cacao butter, organic cane sugar, organic sunflower lecithin
64% Light Roast
Conexión crafts this 64% Organic Dark Chocolate Bar with the same incredible Arriba Nacional Cocoa Beans from the province of Manabí, Ecuador, as noted above.
Single Province: Manabí, Ecuador
Cacao Co-op: Fortaleza del Valle
Tasting Notes: Delicately floral & caramelized. Seductive cocoa and red fruits, macadamia, then sweet molasses with a buttery, delicate floral finish.
Ingredients: Organic cacao mass, organic cane sugar, organic cacao butter, chia seeds, Cayenne pepper.
